Computer Graphics × Cognition Lab

Welcome to the Computer Graphics × Cognition Laboratory at Seoul National University of Science and Technology. Our lab explores the intersection of computer graphics, visual computing, and cognitive science, with a mission to advance both the theory and application of visual technologies. Building on expertise in computer graphics and cognitive science, we pursue interdisciplinary research that connects visual content creation, human perception, and intelligent computing.

Our research is broadly organized into four areas:

• Affective Computing in Visual Media — studying how visual content conveys and influences emotion, and developing systems that adapt to users’ affective states.
• Computational Aesthetics & Artistic Rendering — investigating algorithmic methods for artistic stylization, visual aesthetics, and creative media expression.
• Augmented & Virtual Reality for Immersive Interaction — enhancing visual realism and interaction techniques in AR/VR environments to support engaging and practical applications.
• AI-driven Data Intelligence — applying machine learning and data-driven approaches to analyze multimodal information and to support intelligent decision-making in visual computing.

By integrating machine learning, deep learning, cognitive modeling, and artistic computing, our lab aims to simulate and enhance human-like perception, bridge the gap between aesthetics and intelligence, and create innovative technologies for next-generation visual media.

Ph.D. and M.S. Positions
